In Part One of the two part series on how to create a simple analytics dashboard we discussed retrieving the overall site traffic. In part two and final part, we are going to show you how to pull keyword level data and page level data.
We will go into depth in another post about how to analyze the data that is now in your simple analytics dashboard.
Part Two – Keyword, Referral, Page Level Data
- In Google Analytics click on:
- Traffic Sources => Sources => Search => Organic
- Create a new tab in your Excel sheet that is title “Keywords”. These are the keywords that you want to list in the Keyword Excel tab.
- You will need to export this data into Excel. At the very least, you will want to include the keyword and visits for this basic dashboard.
- In the Excel Sheet, Create a new tab called “Referrers”
- In Google Analytics click on:
- Traffic Sources => Referrals
- These are the referrers that go into the Excel Sheet.
- You will need to export this data into Excel. At the very least, you will want to include the referrer and visits for this basic dashboard.
- In the Excel Sheet, create a new tab called “Pages Viewed”
- In Google Analytics click on:
- Content => Site Content => All Pages
- These are the pages that are listed in the Excel Sheet
- You will need to export this data into Excel. At the very least, you will want to include the pages and visits for this basic dashboard.
